INFINITI Explains The Art Of Color And Design

September 21st, 2016 by

INFINITI has always mastered the art of color and design when creating each and every individual vehicle that they produce. Keeping up with the latest paint technology, the brand has found a new way to stay up-to-date with current trends and styles.

The color of a vehicle can reflect many things about the driver. Personality can be shown through the design as well as heighten visual impact. INFINITI recently interviewed members of their design team to see what makes color and design so important when creating a vehicle. Sandra Boberg, INFINITI Color Manager, said, “Pleasing the customer is important. It’s also about communicating the DNA of the car, to communicate the brand, and get the car dressed to bring out the vehicle’s shape. For the exterior color, you want body colors that enhance the shape and the creative design language.” The brand keeps in mind which colors go with which culture and which consumer. Bright and flamboyant colors are well suited for small city cars and more serious colors, like grays, golds and silvers, belong in larger black-tie cities.

When considering a new design for INFINITI, much of the inspiration comes from the surroundings and the people who influence the design team on a daily basis. INFINITI has been able to push boundaries and to generate excitement and passion in each and every model made. Matthew Weaver, INFINITI Design Director, said, “Our vehicles move, light shimmers around them and there’s a projection of the customer’s self through the product. Experiences happen while with the product: it protects, it excites, it relaxes, it really has some human attributes. All of these factors are considered, be it consciously or subconsciously, when we design and is in fact why some choose to be car designers in the first place.” There is more to these vehicles than what comes to mind.
