July 11th, 2016 by

On Friday July 8th, Baker Motor Company celebrated the launch of the Porsche 718 Boxster, and the entire team enjoyed showing off Porsche’s new model at Mount Pleasant’s Party at the Point. The purpose of the launch was to introduce the new vehicle to local Porsche enthusiasts. The 718 Boxster is the manufacturer’s latest two-door convertible sports car, and it has a 300 HP engine (at 6500 RPM), a top speed of 170 miles per hour, and the ability to move from 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds. The luxurious base model starts at just $57,050, and the upgraded Porsche 718 Boxster S starts at $69,450. Completely customizable, the Boxster is available in 16 body colors with 4 different convertible-top colors. Multiple wheel designs, interior seat options, and technological upgrades (like a Bose surround-sound system and a navigation module for Porsche Communication Management) add to the car’s repertoire of special features. The roadster’s sleek design handles flawlessly and exudes exceptional beauty.

Guests were invited to Mount Pleasant’s Party at the Point, which takes place at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina. Party at the Point is a summer concert series that’s held every Friday in May, June, and July; it’s organized by Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, 105.5 The Bridge, and Ear for Music. At Party at the Point on July 8th, Baker Motor Company displayed the new 718 Boxster for all to see. The event featured stunning waterfront views of the Charleston skyline and the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, live music from the Dubplates (a talented Lowcountry-based reggae band), a spread of food, plus plenty of delicious libations. Party at the Point proved to be fun and enjoyable for all in attendance, and Baker was excited to show off Porsche’s new 718 Boxster in such a lively and relaxing environment.
