Boat + GMC Truck = Summertime Fun

July 12th, 2016 by

With summer in full swing in Charleston, everyone is eager to take their boats to the water to enjoy a fun day on the harbor. No matter the size of the boat, GMC has a truck for the job. The smallest truck in the fleet, the Canyon, can tow up to 7,000 pounds and starts at just $20,955 MSRP. If you’re hauling a bit bigger craft, you’ll want to consider the Sierra. The Sierra 1500 can haul 12,000 pounds, and the most powerful in the series—the Sierra 3500 Denali HD—can handle up to 22,900 pounds.

Unsure about how powerful your truck needs to be for your boating activities? Consider that a jet ski weighs roughly 400 pounds with a full tank of gas. Trailers designed to carry two jet skis weigh about 350 pounds, making your total load 1,150 pounds. If you’re carrying an 18-foot boat, the weight will probably be around 2,500 pounds. Of course, if you have a larger boat, the towing requirements will continue to increase.

Any of GMC’s trucks are ready to take you from dry land to a day on the water. Add the Canyon and Sierra’s technological features (like a rear-vision camera, Intellilink, and Apple CarPlay), a large cargo box with an integrated CornerStep rear bumper and an EZ-Lift tailgate, and a comfortable interior, and the GMC truck lineup is sure to impress.
