Screen Shot 2015-10-21 at 2.12.39 PMIf you thought a ride in a Maserati couldn’t get any smoother, it now has. Maserati’s Ghibli and Quattroporte will now be available with silk seat coverings. The silk seat coverings are unlike any other and are being produced by Ermenegildo Zegna, the Italian luxury fashion house.

Glen Sealey, Chief Operating Officer of Maserati Australia, New Zealand and South Africa said, “Ermenegildo Zegna has taken silk, a natural material that is renowned for its soft and delicate nature, and developed it into a new form of silk that is suitable for car upholstery with its requirements for durability without losing any of silk’s intrinsic qualities. This is little short of remarkable a feat of fabric engineering and on a par with the mechanical and design engineering that has gone into the Ghibli and Quattroporte cars into which it is tailored.”

The silk being used is 100% Mulberry and has been processed in a manner to enhance its strength and durability while keeping the intrinsic qualities of silk that have made it a much sought-after fabric.

How about that? Now your ride in a Maserati will be smooth as silk, literally. Visit us today to take a test drive in a Maserati at Maserati of Charleston on Savannah Highway!
