Revealing Of The Cadillac 2017 DPi-V.R Prototype Race Car
Thrilled to share their latest accomplishment, Cadillac revealed the all-new 2017 Cadillac DPi-V.R racecar. Though it is just in the prototype phase right now, the sports car will be competing in the 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series next year. This is the fastest and most technologically advanced sports car completion in North America. Johan de Nysschen, president of Cadillac, said, “The Cadillac DPi-V.R further strengthens our V-Performance portfolio, placing Cadillac into the highest series of sports car racing in North America.” Vertical lighting signatures enhance the appearance of the new model, and a canopy graphic, which was inspired by the Cadillac daylight opening, appears on the Dpi-V.R. “The studio embraced the opportunity to interpret the Cadillac form language, line work and graphic signature for this premier prototype racing application. Every detail of the final design was selected to support the car’s on-track performance and unmistakable Cadillac presence,” said Andrew Smith, Global Cadillac Design executive director. The designers came together to create the Dpi-V.R with a 6.2 liter V-8 Cadillac engine with 600 horsepower. The 2017 Cadillac DPi-V.R is going to bring a lot of power to next year’s competition.
