2014 GMC Sierra First In Class to Get 5 Stars Under Tougher U.S. Crash Tests
The U.S. safety regulators have just awarded the 2014 GMC Sierra with five-star overall safety ratings. In addition to the Sierra, the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado has received the five-star safety ratings, giving GM a major marketing edge over competing automakers.

“Silverado and Sierra set a benchmark for pickup truck safety by offering a full array of advanced features designed to protect occupants before, during and after a collision,” Gay Kent, GM general director of vehicle safety and crashworthiness, said in a statement.
General Motors emphasizes the trucks’ extensive use of high-strength steel, multiple high-tech safety features, and its fully boxed frames as factors in the five-star overall rating.
