Baker Buick GMC Cadillac Welcomes Strom Altman as General Manager

stromWe are so happy to announce that Strom Altman is the new general manager of Baker Buick GMC Cadillac.

Altman joined the company on February 25. He began his 25-year automotive career at his father’s dealership, Altman Dodge, in 1989 and moved up the management ladder until he became general manager and dealer principal in 1994. The Altman family sold the thriving Dodge dealership to Sonic Automotive in 1999, where Altman remained as dealer operator for six years. In 2005, he bought Altman Dodge back from Sonic and later transitioned the dealership to Strom Altman Suzuki.

With the recent exodus of Suzuki from the United States, Altman’s dealership now remains the only Suzuki parts and service dealer in South Carolina, located in North Charleston. He has also been an accomplished late model stock race car driver for over 20 years and has earned three track championships, winning over 250 events.

“This is the best management team I have ever experienced,” says Altman of Baker Buick GMC Cadillac. “I never intended to work for anybody else, but in my mind, I always thought that if I were going to, it would be Tommy Baker. I’ve admired him for years.”
