The CEO and Founder of Baker Motor Company, Tommy Baker, gave an interview to Automotive News recently as Baker Motor Company was listed as one of the “Best Dealerships to Work For.” What an honor!

Here at Baker Motor Company, we have 250 employees that all receive 300 hours of training a year. We aim to be as knowledgable as possible in the automotive industry and give our customers an excellent shopping experience. In the article Baker says “employee training has been vital to the company’s growth and stellar customer satisfaction.”

“Everybody gets training: sales, managers, concierge, technicians,” he continues. The training is mostly divided between online and classroom learning and it pays off in a major way.

Baker Motor Company of Charleston has four technicians certified as Gold Technician by one of our brands, Porsche. This is the highest achievement available for Porsche service technicians and only 100 Porsche technicians in the country have reached that accomplishment.

Tommy Baker is so passionate about education that Baker Motor Company gives two full higher-education scholarships annually to worthy employees or their family members. The winners are picked by an employee committee.
