kyle wicksThe Baker Motor Company employee luncheon was extra special on Wednesday, April 24, 2013.  Kyle Wicks, son of Baker employee Jim Wicks, was presented with the first $2500 college scholarship from the Tommy B. Baker Scholarship Fund.

Two recipients each year will receive a $2500 scholarship to assist with furthering his or her education. The award is given to full time Baker Motor Company employee spouses or children. In order to participate, the applicant must be a full time student enrolled at any accredited undergraduate two-year or four-year college, university, community college, technical college or trade school.  Recipients may pursue whatever field of study they wish.

Kyle’s father, Jim, has been a Land Rover, Jaguar, Porsche and Maserati sales consultant with us for over three years.  Jim said, “The cost of college continues to rise and this will go a long way.  As employees, Mr. Baker treats us very well and we’re grateful.  He doesn’t have to do this, but he does.”

Kyle is graduating from Bishop England High School in May and heading to Clemson University in the fall to major in engineering.  Congratulations to the Wicks family from all of us!
