Mercedes-Benz Strives To Push The Limit – Charleston, SC

Do you think there is a future for a Mercedes-Benz pickup?

Daimler AG headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany announced last weekend Mercedes-Benz’s interest in marketing a luxury mid-sized pickup truck by the year 2020.

Daimler AG chairman Dr. Dieter Zetsche stated, “the Mercedes-Benz pickup will contribute nicely to our global growth targets. We will enter this segment with our distinctive brand identity and all of the vehicle attributes that are typical of the brand with regard to safety, comfort, and value.”

So far, there has not been a confirmed name for the vehicle and we are not sure whether it will be available in North America. However, the company has shared that its sales will target Europe, South Africa, Australia, and South America. Daimler shared that its Mercedes-Benz Vans Division most known for the Sprinter Van will produce the pickup truck.
