Mercedes-Benz Super Bowl 49 Commercial – all-new 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S

Advertising for the third time in Super Bowl History, Mercedes-Benz Super Bowl 49 commercial was a modern twist on the classic children’s fable, The Tortoise and The Hare.  The company featured a 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S in a 60 second spot to surprise and create awareness for a category the brand has just entered.  The $100,000 sports car gives the Tortoise an advantage over the self-assured Hare in the “Big Race,” allowing him to come out on top!   A story passed down through generations but now with a remarkable amount of wit and charm.

The ad, created by Merkley + Partners in New York, was intended to thrill, entertain and help tell a story, not just sell cars.  Drew Slaven, VP of Mercedes-Benz Advertising, said, “It is the sort of advertising that we as consumers of the Super Bowl expect companies and agencies to bring,” and they did!
