Mr. Tommy Baker Congratulates Gavalas-Kolanko Foundation Scholarship Recipients

Tuessday, Sept. 18th, our own Mr. Tommy Baker had the pleasure of speaking with 10 students (nine from College of Charleston and one Charleston Southern student) who were awarded with scholarships from the Gavalas-Kolanko Foundation. This local charity awards annual scholarships to students with physical disabilities, and it was an honor for Mr. Baker to be part of the process to select its 10 scholarship recipients. There has been a total of 61 students receive this scholarship over the past 14 years, and this year marks the most scholarships awarded to students!

We are so impressed with these students’ tenacity to overcome a physical disability and their scholarly successes. We are honored  to be affiliated with such a wonderful foundation! Baker Motor Company is a proud sponsor of the James Island Connector Run, now in its 14th year, which also benefits the Gavalas Kolanko Foundation.
