June 11th, 2012 by

Did you know the Mercedes-Benz  G-Class began over 30 years ago as the Geländewagen? Since then, it has grown to represent an unequalled combination of hard-nosed capability and handcrafted luxury.

MotorTrend recently took a look of the new 2013 G-Class, the latest version of one of the most rugged, versatile vehicles on the planet. MotorTrend writes, “While the new Gelandewagen doesn’t stray far from the proven formula that’s kept the SUV in production in both military and civilian forms for the past 33 years, Mercedes has made a number of updates to the 2013 Mercedes-Benz G-Class that bring it more line with the rest of the Benz stable.” Some of the updated features include: all-new twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8, producing 544 hp and 560 lb-ft in the G-Wagen application, auto stop-start feature, COMAND multimedia interface with navigation and in-car Internet access, Blind Spot Assist, Parktronic park assist, and Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control.
