Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control: Just one of the many new 911’s exciting features

February 2nd, 2012 by

The all new Porsche 911 goes on sale this Saturday at Baker Motor Company, and we can’t wait to share it with all of Charleston! There are many new, exciting features with this exquisite vehicle, but we wanted to share one feature with you that sets the new 911 apart from today’s luxury ride: Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).

This optional feature for the S models of the new 911 help the 911 Carrera S and the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet hold the road even better and deliver even sportier performance. PDCC is an active anti-roll system that anticipates and reduces lateral body movement during cornering maneuvers. In addition, it minimizes the lateral instability of the vehicle on uneven ground.

This effect is achieved with the aid of hydraulic stabilizing actuators in the form of cylinders designed to optimize camber. Lateral roll is counteracted by forces generated at each individual wheel, based on steering angle and lateral acceleration. The results? Improved dynamic performance and increased ride comfort at all speeds, as well as optimized turn-in and stable load transfer characteristics. In simple terms, the tires and vehicle hold the road better and you can steer through corners faster and in a more relaxed manner.

PDCC sets new standards for handling performance, ride comfort and driving pleasure. In the new 911, your ‘usual’ way suddenly becomes the Porsche way.
