Spotlight on Sprinter Stories: When Pigs Fly Bakery

April 9th, 2015 by

When Pigs Fly bakery opened in 1993 equipped with only one mixer and was producing around 80 loaves of bread a day.  The bakery now has 80 employees, bakes more than 25 varieties of bread and delivers to over 300 markets, stores, farmers markets and communities a day!

What is their key to success? The ability to deliver their goods to stores in their Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van.  “This is the most dependable vehicle we have ever owned, to date our Sprinters have never missed a delivery,” said co-founder Andrew Siegel.

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter allows When Pigs Fly bakery to work harder and eliminate obstacles getting tasty baked goods from point A to point B in a timely manner.  Some top features include the van’s non-slip floors and the cabin space which is  able to carry a day’s worth of deliveries that come in a variety of different size crates and boxes. Driving in Maine can also be a challenge due to unpredictable weather conditions; but the Sprinter is designed to handle any challenge and moves quickly around the north eastern state’s narrow streets perfectly!
